In addition to the Gardens, begun in 1741, the House Museum (c. 1755) offers tours daily focusing on Arthur Middleton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and the Plantation Stableyards bring to life the sights and sounds of an 18th and 19th century self-sustaining plantation as traditional craftsmen and trades are demonstrated and displayed.
