Labyrinth Walk/Lecture
In the summer of 2003, master labyrinth designer Stuart Bartholomaus laid out the Inn's Labyrinth, based on the famous labyrinth at the cathedral in Chartres, France. The walk in and out of the labyrinth can be used as a contemplative walk. Group lectures and guided tours are available.
Walking Tours
If walking is your preference, you will enjoy a guided walk with the Inn's naturalist around one of the 18th-century flooded rice fields. Learn about the rich history of rice culture and how the fields have evolved into habitats teeming with wildlife. You will stop at the wildlife observation stand and have the chance to view numerous wood ducks, ospreys and alligators that dwell here.
Kayak Tours
The Ashley River - a calm, tidal estuary with marsh banks full of life - lends itself perfectly to a paddling excursion. Trained naturalists will guide you by kayak into pristine tidal creeks where nature's beauty unfolds.
